Replacing the screen of an iPhone X without a warranty or AppleCare+ plan costs $279. An iPhone 8 Plus or 7 Plus screen costs $169. And an iPhone 6 screen replacement costs $129 if you don't have coverage.
The best plan for dealing with a cracked iPhone screen is to prevent the damage in the first place. Always use a screen protector, and consider using a rugged case that fully encapsulates the phone, like an OtterBox Defender Series case.
my iphone screen is cracked will apple replace it
You can bring a damaged iPhone to an Apple store or a licensed service provider for a screen replacement, which can often be completed that same day, or you can mail your iPhone to Apple in a shipping box they provide at your request. Expect to be without your phone for one long, grueling week, but if you live in an area without easy access to Apple stores or partnered locations, this is a fine option.
Got my phone (iphone13 pro max) 2 weeks ago today. Tonight I noticed what appeared to be an eyelash on the screen when it didn't move I lifted the corner of my screen protector thinking it was under it. As I did this a crack began to spread through screen at the top. This phone has been in an otter box defender case and has a screen protector and camera protector since arriving in the mail from my service provider. It has never been dropped or dinged. I just upgraded from the iPhone 6s, if this tells you how careful I am with my phones to ensure making them last me. My phone states I still have 48 days to add the apple care protection but I really feel like this is a defect of the phone and being it is only 2weeks old my phone should be replaced at no cost to me at all. Has any one else experienced this with the iPhone 13 pro max and if so how did apple handle the issue? After this I am really considering switching to Samsung. These are too $$$$ pricey $$$$ to be experiencing this kind of headache.
All anyone can advise you to do is to schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar and show them the phone. Apple won't let you add an AppleCare+ plan to a phone with a cracked screen. If Apple determines the phone has a manufacturing defect (somewhat unlikely), they'll replace the screen. If they determine the phone does not have a defect, you'll have to pay for a screen replacement. Don't shoot the messenger. This is a user to user only forum. You'll have to discuss this with Apple directly.
I've googled unexplained cracks too and a very large percentage of them do involve OtterBox cases which are extremely tight fitting and if you do not follow the instructions perfectly you will stress the screen and cause cracks. This is not a fault of the screen.
Plus the display unit has nothing to do with Face ID, if a third party screen is installed and the repair shop knows what they are doing they will not disconnect the True Depth camera leaving Face ID in working order. You will get messages about it not being an Apple screen and won't have True Tone anymore.
If the screen somehow does crack from the inside out that is considered a manufacturing defect and Apple will replace it under the warranty. If the damage is external, either from a blow or stressing it, then it is user damage and not covered by the standard warranty.
You aren't very well informed, are you? iOS 15.2 was release a couple of months ago, iOS 15.3 was just released. And neither of them, since they are software updates, provide any changes to micro soldering on the logic board. And no, they don't extend the ability to work with the security enclave nor the True Depth camera. If a 3rd party technician is careful they can replace a screen without disconnecting the True Depth camera nor interfering with the security enclave so the 3rd party screen will work. This is not new. Apple has also announced a self repair program for battery replacement and other self repair sometime in the future for the iPhone 12 and 13 series, but since none of them need batteries yet it may be awhile. The rest of your post isn't applicable to this thread.
Many types of Iphones glitches may come as a result of running high-powered apps, way above the running capacity of the phone's GPU and on some occasions, a decrease in your battery will also lead to glitches. If you face the same problem again, you can visit any of the nearest iStores or contact any 3rd party websites for screen replacement. Some of the popular sites include maxbhi, amazon, xfurbish.com and so on...
Apple provides a one-year warranty for defects like bad pixels (not if you dropped your phone and cracked the screen), and many major credit cards will automatically double that warranty. So, if your screen is defective, it's worth bringing your device into an Apple Store or an Authorized Apple Service Provider to see if it can be repaired for free.
To find an Authorized Apple Service Provider, go to Apple Support and follow the prompts to create an appointment for iPhone screen repair. Next, you will see a list of nearby Authorized Apple Service Providers. In addition to Apple Stores, this includes Best Buy stores, many carrier stores, and select third-party repair services.
As detailed by Apple Support in a new post online, Apple will send you a warning if you get your screen replaced through a third-party. According to Apple, a new screen from a non-authorized seller could at worst damage your new phone and at best make certain functions inoperable.
If you don't have AppleCare, it will cost about the price of a new (refurbished) iPad to fix your screen. Apple charges anywhere from $199 to $599 (plus tax) to fix a broken iPad screen, depending on the model. That's a lot, especially compared to $129 to $149 to fix an out-of-coverage iPhone 7 screen.
There are other places to get your iPad screen fixed, but choosing a non-Apple repair shop will void your warranty. And yes, Apple can tell if a non-Apple employee has opened up your iPad. But if you're out of warranty anyway, there's a number of third-party Apple repair places that can fix your iPad's shattered screen.
Replacing the glass is much more difficult than replacing the entire touchscreen, because you will need to separate the glass from the touchscreen and then glue the new piece of glass onto the old touchscreen. That's something you should leave to professionals.
If you really want to give it a shot, keep in mind that a touchscreen replacement kit, including the LCD screen and digitizer, can cost between $30 and $400, depending on which components you need and the model. We haven't tested these replacement parts ourselves and do not recommend it.
Plus, with the DIY approach, you will void your warranty and have nobody but yourself to blame if something goes wrong. Replacing the screen will cost you as much, if not more, than simply taking your device to the Apple store.
It won't look pretty, but you don't need to replace your screen when it cracks. If the cracks are around the edges of the screen and don't interfere with actually using the phone, or if you have one or two large cracks that run across the screen, a glass screen protector such as Zagg's glass screen protector ($30-$50) so you don't cut your fingers as you swipe.
You can check the status of your claim device 24x7 on the web at You may also receive tracking information for your replacement device via an automated system by contacting Customer Care at 1-888-211-4727. When you start your claim online, we will explain the next steps, which depend upon the type of device and the nature of the damage. Cracked screens on certain devices are generally eligible for repair, as long as the device still powers on and is operational with no additional damage. For approved claims, a repair or replacement device will be provided at our discretion.
Secondly, Apple Watch repairs (or replacements) are not carried out in stores. Units are sent to an authorized repair center for any repair work. Even if you submit your smartwatch to an Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Store, they will mail it to an authorized repair center. This is the case even if Apple knows it is going to replace the Apple Watch unit.
If you own the Apple Watch Series 2 or Series 3, you may be eligible for a free screen repair. Apple has a screen replacement program for selected Apple Watch Series 2 and 3 units manufactured between September 2016 to 2019. On the Apple Watch Screen Replacement Program page, the company notes that the crack should begin on one side and continue around the display for this program.
If you have AppleCare+, you are in luck as this does cover accidental damage to the screen. You will only have to pay a service fee of $69 (plus taxes) to get the screen replaced, which is far more reasonable. Again, this screen replacement is likely to result in an entire Apple Watch unit replacement.
On average, iPhone screen repairs cost $220. If you have a warranty, prices start at $29 but can increase to $329 if you don't have one. Ultimately, your costs will depend on the type of phone you have, the severity of the damage and more.

Mobile iPhone repair services will also travel to you for the repair, which can save you time.
